Winter
A winter holiday in the wonderfully snowy mountain village Gries is perfect for families. A small lift with a skiing slope below our hotel offers the best conditions for beginners and children. Every week there is a night skiing event in the floodlight. It's only 20 minutes to the alpine skiing area Sölden with the car. Getting to the skiing area Hochötz takes only about 30 minutes by car. For these trips as well as other undertakings you are more than welcome to rent our house-taxi.
Gries is also a great venue for winter hikes, tours of all difficulties, and sledding. For this, the Sulztal Alp, the Amberger Hut, the Nissl Alp and from February on the Winnebach lake Hut are perfect. Additionally, perfectly prepared cross-country skiing runs provide an unforgettable cross-country skiing experience.
During winter there is a free shuttle bus that takes you to the skiing areas Sölden (14 km away), Gurgl (27 km away) and Ötz (17 km away).
Summer
Enjoy a summer in the midst of nature, surrounded by the spectacular mountains of the Ötztal Alps. Gries is the ideal spot for hiking. In the vicinity there are several wonderful huts which you and your family can reach well with a bit of effort, like for example the Sulztal Alp, the Winnebach lake Hut, the Nissl Alp, the Unterlehner Hof or the Amberger Hut.
It's obviously possible to reach some of the huts with a mountain bike. You will enjoy the dreamy views of the Ötztal Alps.
You can also simply stroll trough the idyllic mountain village and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Ötzi Village
The Ötzi Village is one of the best destination for the entire family. There are many different classes for old and young, from a bow making class to a survival trainer course.
Area 47
The Area47 offers several different outdoor activities to the entire family. Sports like climbing, beach volleyball, rafting and canyoning or the Waterarea with its many highlights. At the Area47, an eventful day is guaranteed.
Feuerstein
The Alps Hotel Feuerstein is a popular destination for old and young folks alike. The worthwhile visit at the hiking hut is rewarded with local culinary delights. The hike from Huben near Längenfeld takes about an hour.
Ötztal Fun-Park
Giant Slides, Bungee Trampoline, Air-Bubble, Trampolines, a giant swing, and a skater park; that is only part of what the Ötztal Fun-Park in Huben has to offer. The Ötztal Fun-Park is a real paradise for families. A visit is certainly worth it.
Swimming Lake Umhausen
The swimming lake Umhausen is nestling between mighty 3000m peaks of the Ötztal and Stubai Alps. A large lawn, a beach volleyball and a tennis court offer fun and relaxation all summer long.
